This Sunday the Clonmel Tidy Towns volunteers were at the inaugural Clonmel Applefest ’Vale of Honey’ Community day down at New Quay car park in Clonmel. The Clonmel Apple fest was a weekend for community, music, food, dancing, heritage ,biodiversity and nature walks. The history of apples and Clonmel is a wonderful base to build a fantastic festival around. We can’t wait to watch it grow!
We had a stand which we promoted ‘The All lreland Pollinator Plan, 2015-2020’. We enjoyed distributing the information booklets and book markers to the crowds that attended and had great fun in many question and answer sessions.
We were delighted with the positive response to the pollinator plan booklets and its simple actions to help our bees/pollinators. We are also really appreciative of the public’s positive attitude to our group winning this years All lreland Pollinator Award and our Gold Medal Award in Tidy Towns. Competition was great and this support will spur us on to achieve greater goals going forward. Here are some photos from this weekends fun!
