This collaboration with art students from CTI Senior College was a result of the Covid 19 restrictions. During the first lockdown, Clonmel Tidy Towns began a photographic campaign that examined our town’s rich heritage and architecture. Posting images on our Facebook page of our many laneways and doorways offered the community a new perspective on the town and proved very popular.
Questions began to emerge in our discussions of how our town was viewed and how we valued and appreciated our local architectural heritage. Through our outreach with local schools and colleges we discovered that the Course Coordinators of CTI Senior College’s Art Campus had begun to research Clonmel’s buildings of significance and the seeds for this very exciting and creative project were sown.
