Path at McDonagh Crescent

(1) Extra care needed when walking, July 2023 (2) Hardcore in place, September 2023 (3) We have a path :) April 2024.

Many of the residents in McDonagh Crescent are older so a smooth path was essential. In order to make the orchard accessible to the residents of McDonagh Crescent and the Old Bridge as a whole, it was important that a path was created that would allow access to all. Due to the generosity of Boston Scientific, a path is being installed. This will allow the residents to access the orchard for exercise as well as experiencing and enjoying the biodiversity around them.

Old Bridge Coppicing

Following on from that engagement, the Old Bridge Community signed up to join our Clean Clonmel Collaboration project

A request for assistance came from residents on The Old Bridge. An access path to the river, a wonderful amenity during the summer, was overgrown and becoming inaccessible. They asked if we could help with the coppicing of trees along the path. We were very happy to oblige as we felt it would be a way of connecting with the community.

Green Lane

Making the path more accessible, April 2024

Green Lane is a part of the Blueway and is used by walkers, joggers and cyclists on a daily basis. Part of the lane can become very overgrown and in order to allow ease of access but also restraining overzealous strimmers, we regularly cut back the brambles. This always gets a good response on our social media and is a positive aspect of our work that impacts community engagement in our green spaces.
